Lead QA Engineer

The Lead QA Engineer role is responsible for leading the planning, development, execution, and reporting of tests for complex systems.  This role also performs a wide range of test activities including writing automation scripts, regression tests for web and mobile applications in a fast-paced agile environment. As part of a growing company, the best candidate will be a self-starter with an innovative mindset and excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and reverse engineering skills.

Description of Duties

• Supervise, mentor and facilitate career growth within the QA team
• Decompose large projects into work for other QA team members
• Provide technical guidance and follow-up on QA projects
• Review requirements, write test scripts/scenarios, and perform test analysis
• Coordinate and execute integration, functional, system, regression and user-acceptance testing of web and mobile applications
• Develop and execute test plans, cases, scripts and procedures (manual and automated)
• Document and facilitate communication and troubleshooting of issues, bugs, changes
• Define stories and their acceptance criteria to know if they satisfy customer requirements
• Create and maintain defect logs during test cycles; manage prioritization of defects with the business and development team
• Estimate and scope work for sprints/projects
• Work closely with Product Management, Developers, and stakeholders to ensure that the highest quality software is delivered on time in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate and act on risks to project stakeholders
• Proactively troubleshoot to replicate, identify and resolve issues with the team.
• Review logs & backend to help to identify the root cause of the issues identified
• Coordinate with business users to plan and execute user acceptance testing
• Identify and resolve test environment issues
• Works closely with and performs other related duties as assigned or requested by his/her supervisor
